About:
In 2002, the Morgan Hill Downtown Association (MHDA) was formed to guide and manage the revitalization efforts for the heart of the city. Incorporated as a 501(c)(6) tax exempt non-profit corporation, the MHDA has a Board of Directors that represents key stakeholders of Downtown Morgan Hill including local businesses, residents, city government and other interested parties. With funding from the City of Morgan Hill's Redevelopment Agency (RDA) and membership dues, the MHDA: •Plans Promotional Events •Offers Co-Op Advertising •Provides an All-Inclusive Web Site •Recruits Targeted Restaurants, Retail and Entertainment Uses •Keeps merchants, residents and land owners informed of issues effecting the downtown The Morgan Hill Downtown Association continues to update the Downtown Plan in conjunction with several other organizations and departments including the City of Morgan Hill, Redevelopment Agency, Architectural Review Board, Planning Commission and many other stakeholders. This update will also include incentive programs to encourage investor confidence of potential developers and merchants. A quarterly newsletter informs members of current events in the downtown and periodic membership meetings give downtown constituents as a chance to network, voice opinions and foster coordinated activities. About the Board The Board of Directors is the governing body of the Morgan Hill Downtown Association. The purpose of the board of directors is to provide direction, vision and strong leadership to the Executive Director, staff and every stakeholder of the downtown. MHDA Board of Directors is compiled of individuals who have established and met specific criteria. Aspects of this specific criteria include serving on at least one of the current committees and/or taking an active role in other aspects of the MHDA Scope of Work. MHDA board members must be current members of the Morgan Hill Downtown Association (business owner, resident or property owner) or hold some kind of major stake in downtown Morgan Hill. MHDA board members must be passionate about the heart of the city and attend monthly board meetings to provide input. Content copyright 2013. MORGANHILLDOWNTOWN.ORG. All rights reserved.
