Our mission is to strengthen families by teaching them how to make the most out of the first five years through classes that promote early literacy, school readiness, increased health and nutrition, and social-emotional health.
We emphasize the social-emotional aspects of school readiness, which teachers say is a critical aspect of Kindergarten readiness. All classes foster ways of building/maintaining a healthy connection between parent and child and increasing resilience in the family. We believe that when parents are involved in educational opportunities early on with their children, they are more likely to stay involved as the child grows.
We have one main Family Resource Center in Mountain View and three additional satellite sites in the region, where we provide the classes, linkages to other essential community services, and opportunities for families to connect with each other through family events and opportunities to take part in strengthening the community through volunteer opportunities.
